Supported the introduction of legislation mirroring the National Infrastructure Bank Act of 2007 (S. 1926), would create a new mechanism through which the federal government could finance infrastructure projects.

Advocated for Senate version of the Water Quality Financing Act of 2007 (H.R. 720), a bill that would amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to authorize appropriations for state water pollution control revolving funds, and for other purposes.
Urged enactment of Water Quality Investment Act (H.R. 569) which would amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to authorize appropriations for sewer overflow control grants.

Advocated shortening the depreciation life of farm equipment from 7 to 5 years (H.R. 2419).
Worked to prevent repeal of last in, first out (LIFO) accounting method, which proposed in the Tax Reduction and Reform Act (HR 3970).
Worked for enactment of H.R. 1023 and S. 777, to repeal Section 511 of the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of
2005, which imposed withholding on certain payments made to vendors by government entities.
Supported the Good Government Contractor Act (S. 2394), a bill to amend portions of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code, including a proposed repeal of Section 511 of the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2005.
General support of economic stimulus package, specificially reinstating the depreciation bonus, including the enactment of H.R. 5140, the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.
Supported H.R. 5670 which would create a home purchaser tax credit to bolster housing and construction activity.
