Opposition to various House and Senate proposals, including: S 3044, the Consumer-First Energy Act of 2008; HR 6251, the Responsible Federal Lease Act; HR 6515, the Drill responsibly in Federal Lands Act) and other proposals to reduce natural gas and oil exploration and production by increasing permitting times, adding new regulatory requirments and increasing taxes and fees.
Opposition to HR 2421, the Clean Water Restoration Act to expand the definition of "Waters of the Unites States".
Opposition to S 2191, America's Climate Security Act, or "Lieberman-Warner Bill" as reported by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and its provisions that would reduce natural gas supply. Also the Boxer Substitute, S3036.
General support for proposals to ensure that any cap and trade legislation assesses any emission fees on natural gas users as opposed to producers or processors.
Opposition to Sec 526 of the Energy Independence Security Act of 2007 related to the U.S Government procurement of alternative fuels based on lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions, including various un-numbered proposals to repeal Section 526.
Support for proposals such as S 2958, the American Energy Production Act of 2008, and HR 5437, the American-Made Energy Act and various proposals to increase natural gas exploration and production access on federal lands, and to encourage more domestic energy supplies.
Support for various un-numbered Appropriations legislative amendment concepts to scale back offshore moratoria prohibitions against oil and gas activity.
