Regulations under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Pub. L. 111-148) related to calorie disclosure on products sold through vending machines. Tracking issues related to the US Food Code and its application to the micro market channel. This specifically relates to the Office of Food Safety at the Center for Food Safety & Nutrition.
Continued support for the establishment of a uniform compliance date for various federal regulations regarding changing in the labeling of food. This includes regulations around nutrition facts label, vending calorie disclosure rules, GMO and other labeling updates. FDA issued proposed rule [Docket
Tracking comments submitted to USDA proposed rule for national GMO labeling.
Met with OMB and Congress on proposed rule: Food Labeling: Calorie Labeling of Articles of Food Sold From Certain Vending Machines; Front of Package Type Size.

Contacted EPA regarding issues around compliance with the refrigeration requirements in the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Program (SNAP) rules as it relates to vending machines and the January 1, 2019 deadline for de-listing of refrigerants. NAMA actively engaged with EPA on this issue and requested an extension of the compliance date to January 2022. Attended EPA Stakeholder Working Group Session on the future of SNAP

Timothy F. Geithner, Secretary of the Treasure. Discussions surrounding potential updates to redesign of currency for the visually impaired.
Tracking S. 759 Currency Optimization, Innovation and National Savings Act of 2017. Also, actively opposed legislation that would change the metallic content of coins.
