China - The Forum supports economic engagement with China to promote the liberalization of China's financial markets.
TPA Renewal - The Forum supports renewal of the President's trade promotion authority & rapid passage of 4 existing FTA's to ensure the U.S. remains an active participant in the global economy. FTA's for Peru, Panama, Korea, and Colombia.
Globalization Study/Worker Competitiveness - The Forum supports a 21st century economy with a competitive global workplace.
The Forum supports legislation to modernize trade adjustment assistance (TAA) programs to help American workers in transition adjust to the manifold challenges they face in today's global marketplace. To that end, the Forum supports an expansion of TAA programs to cover service sector workers and all workers whose jobs shift overseas; an increase in TAA funding to American businesses to help them retool to avoid trade-related layoffs; and, an increase in TAA funding for state efforts to help trade affected communities.

HR. 627, "The Credit Cardholders Bill of Rights Act", S. 414, "Credit CARD Act" - The Forum urges Congress to more carefully explore the implications of legislation that would further complicate industry efforts to adjust to ongoing regulatory changes in credit card practices by the Federal Reserve and Office of Thrift Supervision.
Fair Value Accounting Standards - The Forum supports accounting standards that ensure balanced, transparent, and sound reporting of financial information.
Financial Regulatory Modernization - The Forum supports modernization and reform of the financial regulatory system to ensure the safety and soundness of financial institutions, the stability of the U.S. financial system and protect the varied interests of depositors, consumers, and investors.
Capital Market Competitiveness generally - The Forum supports the free flow of capital and open & competitive U.S. markets. The Forum also supports maintaining the United States as an attractive place for investment and a continued leader in the global economy.

Tax Policy - The Forum supports tax policy that keeps the U.S. economy open to grow, create jobs, and attract foreign investment.
The Forum supports executive compensation practices that are consistent with effective risk management practices, pay for long-term performance, not short term profits and do not retroactively penalize companies and employees who acted responsibly.

S.722, "The Taxpayer Certainty and Relief Act" - The Forum supports strengthening the economy through policies that foster private savings and capital investment. The Forum supports maintaining the existing tax rates on dividends and capital gains.
